Frequently asked questions
WILL I BE CHARGED FOR...
Charges will be assessed at appointment rates for phone calls lasting longer than five minutes (see details under Practice Policies).
Cancelled or missed appointments?
No charges will be assessed if patient cancels at least 48 hours in advance, or in case of an emergency. If patient does not cancel at least 48 hours in advance, full charges for the appointment will be assessed and billed. Your insurance company will NOT cover this.
Note: Patients with a pattern of missing appointments or not participating in their treatment plan will be given 30 days' notice, then possibly asked to seek treatment elsewhere.
Charges will be assessed for paperwork completed by Ideal Endocrinology, depending on the complexity and length of the paperwork needed.
If certain medications require "pre-authorization" the patient will need to come in for an office visit. Dr. Fratila will stand by you to get your medications "pre-authorized" and the patient and the doctor will work as a team to get you the medication and the care you need.
WILL MY INSURANCE COVER MY VISIT?
Ideal Endocrinology is considered "out-of-network" with all insurers. Medicare insurance is not accepted. Patients will be given an itemized bill at the time of the visit, that they can submit to their insurance company (but not to Medicare) for partial or complete reimbursement. Please call your insurance in advance and find out what your benefits are! (See details on Practice Policies page.)
CAN I CALL FOR A MEDICATION REFILL?
No refills will be given without a visit. Established patients might be given paper prescriptions for several months worth of medication after they have demonstrated an ability to remain stable on what they are taking and an ability to engage proactively in their care plan. If there is an emergency and the patient cannot make it in for an appointment but still need a refill, the doctor will selectively refill one week’s worth of prescriptions and an office visit will be scheduled within seven days.
